Hi! My name is Sarah Greenberg and I am from Cheshire Connecticut. I have lived here all 14 years of my life. I play field hockey, lacrosse, tennis, and I swim and snowboard. I also play the piano and guitar. I am an only child in my family. Some of my hobbies include cooking, art, and baking. One interesting thing about me is that I was almost on Master Chef Junior of FOX. 2 years ago I was a huge fan of cooking. All I watched was the food network, and I cooked dinner every night. One night while watching Master Chef I saw an ad for an open call in NY for a junior version of the show. I knew I had to at least try, I mean what's the worst that could happen. We registered online and a week later we were on the road to NY. I completed the open call not expecting much. There would be at least 8,000 kid audition in NY alone. There were 12 other open calls before us. After the open call they said they would call in 2-3 days if they wanted to see us again. I spent the rest of the day in the city just having fun, then suddenly we got a call. It was the producers and they wanted to see me again. I eventually made it to the final cut round. I had to cook a meal in 30 minutes while being filmed and asked questions. After that I also had to create a home video. Sadly in the end I wasnt able to fly out to LA. This was one of the craziest things that ever happened to me. Another interesting fact is that I was 1st runner up for the CA Town Scholar this year. I had always wanted to go to CA since I was about 10. My next door neighbor went here and always was telling me how much she loved it. I also really wanted something to challenge me. Last year I head about Town Scholar so I decided to give it a shot considering I live in cheshire. I went through the whole application process. SSAT, essays, application, questions, interviews, shadow day, open houses. The whole 9 yards. I was hopeful to get the scholarship but unsure because there were so many amazing candidates. One night I got a call that I made the top 8 and they wanted one last interview. I was overjoyed, until I broke my collar bone one day before. I knew I couldn't miss this opportunity though, so I pushed through the pain and attended the interview. About 2 weeks later I got an envelope in the mail from the academy. I ripped it open and found out that I got the 1/4 scholarship. I was so proud but also very sad at the same time, for I knew I could only attend with a 1/2 scholarship. Friday of that week I got a call that the 1/2 winner dropped out and I moved up. I was ecstatic because I knew I now would be able to go to school at CA. The Town Scholar was one of the best things that ever happened to me. A final interesting fact is that I have seen Wicked twice. The first time was when I was 10, it was my second broadway show. My parents surprised me with tickets for Christmas that year. I was so excited to see it. We got a hotel right in time square, that looked over a wicked billboard sign. After watching the musical I couldn't wipe a smile off my face. The next 2 years I played many of the songs on piano. I couldn't get enough. Later that year my mom got me tickets to it again this time at a theater in CT. I was so excited. To this day wicked is still my favorite show. I am taking this corse because I was to try something new. For me its always been music and sports. I want to expand to theater as well. Acting has always been fascinating to me. From a young age I always has a dream to be the star of a broadway show. Though I'm not expecting that from this course I just want to see if acting is for me. I hope to gain some confidence from this corse. I always am a bit shy when public speaking or being in front of a crowd. I'm hoping this corse will help me gain confidence in these categories.
