Silent movie reflection


This silent movie project was a very eye opening experience for me. It was a entire new set of skills needed in order to produce the final product. Since no words could be used, we had to really work on our facial expressions, camera angle, and staging. When we were filming I had to constantly remind myself FACE FACE FACE not WORDS WORDS WORDS. I think one thing we did well with was each character was very unique, and each had a very funny and special quirk. These quirks made the overall movie very funny. Whenever one of the would “Wipeout”, it had a taste of their personally in it. This made it so interesting to watch. In my opinion it was so hard not to use words. In everyday life when you want someone to know something you say it. But in this project you couldn’t. If you wanted the audience to know something you had use your face to say it. This was a very new and difficult skill for me to grasp. Another aspect I really enjoyed about this project was process of it all coming together. I really enjoyed going from a script, to getting outfits, planning out the course, to filming. That entire aspect really was interesting to me. I thought it was so cool how we could go from words on a page to an entire obstacle course we thought of, put together, and “competed on”. I think overall our class has become more comfortable with each other. We all work together really well and know how to combine all of our strengths and weaknesses. This comfort in the end leads to a better product in my opinion. I think one thing we could do better is managing our time, and being more efficient while filming. Some days we could have gotten more scenes filmed than we actually did. All in all I thought this was a very interesting project and I really enjoyed it. It was something very new to me, but in the end I learned alot from it.

 This monologue project was very eye opening to me. It helped me realize how much work needs to go into a single scene. This project was quite challenging for me to complete. First and foremost i HATE performing in front of anyone.  So having to do most of this process in front of people was quite the learning curve. I had to accept the fact that mistakes will be made, but the people watching are there to help me fix them. Going along with it liking the crowd, it was hard for me to look up and perform at the same time. When we first performed I was constantly looking down trying to avoid eye contact. My main goal was to just get through all the words correctly and for the scene to be over. By the end of this project I was definitely more comfortable performing in front of people. I think the biggest thing i improved on was my blocking. At first i hardly had any blocking and pretty much just read the lines. By the end I feel I did a lot better job at blocking. Scene reflection

This scene project taught me a lot of things as the process went by. When we first chose our scene, I knew that this would be something new for me. Working with more than one person on a comedic scene. In the end though, it was one of my favorite project we had done. I though in this scene we did a good job of all interacting together well. At first I thought this would be difficult since the host talked to both contestants separately. But in the end we did a good job at incorpering everyone at most times. It was very fun to work on this aspect. Deciding where the other contestant could cut in and make a snarky comment. I also thought we did a good job of memorizing our lines. It's was a long scene compared to what we had previously done. But all things considered we were able to remember our lines and keep the scene moving in a funny way. les miserables review

Les Miserables Review I had the pleasure to view Cheshire Academy's production of Les Miserables, written by Claude-Michel Schoenberg and Alain Boublilon on Friday February 23 in the Black Box Theatre. Les Miserables starts with a man named Jean Valjean. After serving 19 years for stealing bread, he is released by Inspector Javert. Once he is released he meets a young girl Fantine, a young girl left to take care of a child. Soon after she is forced to leave her child in someone else's care in order to find work to afford the child, she becomes ill. While on her death bed she asks Valjean to care for her daughter, Cosette. The next we see Cosette living in a brothel house where she is being treated very poorly by the masters of the house. Once Valjean finds Cosette, he pays to get her away from the house. Years later Valjean changes his name and becomes mayor of the town.
